Our Story
The Puffing Billy is located in the beautiful village of Exton on the east side of the Exe estuary. Just 15 minutes from Exeter and 5 minutes from Exmouth. We offer a dynamic, seasonal menu of locally sourced produce inside a cosy, recently revamped stylish interior.
Our restaurant has been a part of the local community for several years, and we take pride in serving our customers with the best quality food and drinks. Our team of expert chefs and servers are dedicated to providing you with an unforgettable dining experience that will keep you coming back for more.

Our bar offers a wide range of drinks which include an interesting range of soft drinks, regularly changing real ales, an extensive wine list, over 100 spirits and a full coffee menu.

Dogs are welcome in the bar, timber floor area of the restaurant and outside. We do not allow dogs in our main restaurant on the carpet.
​
We are on the Exe trail way and have excellent access by foot, bike, train, car or bus. Trains to Exeter and Exmouth run frequently and have a fantastic view of the estuary.
